Quality paint protection film is designed to provide protection for many years, but the exact lifespan depends on the film, installation, vehicle use, environmental exposure, and maintenance. SunTek offers multiple PPF products with different manufacturer warranty periods, so the expected service life can vary depending on the specific film installed.
PPF installation time depends on the vehicle, coverage package, body contours, paint condition, and amount of preparation required. Smaller individual areas can be completed more quickly, while Full Front or Full Vehicle PPF requires considerably more installation time. Team Acme can provide an expected turnaround time when your vehicle and coverage are confirmed.
Allow newly installed PPF time to cure before washing the vehicle. SunTek recommends waiting at least three days after installation, then hand washing with soap, water, and a soft wash mitt or cloth. Automatic car washes and high-pressure washing around film edges should be avoided because they can contribute to film lifting.

Yes. Paint protection film can be professionally removed when it reaches the end of its service life, becomes damaged, or you want to change the coverage. SunTek recommends having PPF removed by a professional installer, particularly when it is installed over original factory paint.
PPF and ceramic coating protect a vehicle in different ways. Paint protection film creates a physical barrier designed to help protect painted surfaces from rock chips, road debris, scratches, and other impacts. Ceramic coatings primarily add surface properties such as slickness, hydrophobic behavior, easier cleaning, and resistance to environmental contamination, but they do not provide the same level of impact protection as PPF.
Not every vehicle needs paint correction before PPF installation. New or well-maintained paint may require only proper cleaning and surface preparation, while vehicles with visible swirls, oxidation, water spots, or other paint defects may benefit from correction before the film is installed. The paint should be evaluated before installation so defects are not unnecessarily sealed beneath the film.

Paint protection film is best suited to properly cured, stable paint. SunTek designs its PPF for original painted surfaces and notes that its limited warranty does not apply when the film is installed over repainted or aftermarket-painted surfaces. Vehicles with repaired or repainted panels should therefore be evaluated before PPF installation.
Yes. SunTek states that its paint protection film is used in very hot climates and is designed to perform in excessive heat when properly installed and maintained.
